It’s hard to imagine quintessential British kitchen without thinking about a shaker style kitchen. The straight lines that define the classic shaker style can be easily achieved with shaker kitchens from British manufacturers Daval and Mereway, while German manufacturer Nobilia offers a slightly more modern twist on the classic shaker kitchen.

Daval’s range of shaker kitchens offer a classic approach to the shaker, with three ranges Farnley, Henley and Portland all offering discrete differences that will have huge visual impact on your final kitchen. As with all Daval kitchens made-to-measure furniture can be utilised to create a unique feature or to work around any awkward shapes in a room.

The Farnley range is a popular choice for a Daval shaker kitchen because of its sophisticated clean lines and vast variety of optional additional features. The Henley range is often preferred when a detailed shaker is what is needed, with framed end panels adding elegance to this shaker kitchen. A Portland door has a discrete wood grain to it giving a more traditional shaker feel although actually appearing more modern from distance.

Shaker kitchens from Mereway are all about choice. Mereway have recognised that everyone is different when it comes to designing their perfect kitchen and so divided their range of shaker kitchens into traditional shakers, shakers and modern shakers. The Gainsborough door from the traditional range is often used as the detailed shaker frame can easily be used to create a vintage feel in the kitchen. Other doors Canterbury, Lincoln and Virginia offer plenty of colour options a deep ridged shaker for a more classic shaker door. While the Charnwood shaker door is perfect for a modern shaker with its thick ridge and straight-line approach to a shaker kitchen.

The beautifully designed British made Mereway kitchens offer a wealth of unique features that can be combined to create individual looks that are at home in both the town and the country.

German kitchens whatever the intention, are often designed and manufactured with an element of modern design. The shaker range of kitchens by German manufacturer Nobilia offer a Germanic take on the classic style door, which is made evident through the cottage style design of this range.
A choice of cottage styled kitchens is prevalent in the Cascada, Chalet and Credo ranges with each door utilising a thick frame, which helps to create a warmer ambience in a cottage kitchen. New for this year the Kansas range focuses on the use of the Sierra Oak shade great for introducing a warm wood effect into the kitchen. The final Shaker door from Nobilia is the extremely popular York range, which is available in both satin grey and ivory and is commonly combined with Nobilia’s own laminate wood effect worktops.
